Thank you to all, who submitted their abstracts well in time (the deadline was on Monday!)
Since
we are still receiving abstracts (though the "big wave" seems to
be over and it is only a small trickle now) and requests for a "grace
periode", please be informed, that
NO ABSTRACTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER WEDNESDAY 30 April !!!!

- please specify your specialist group

2nd Announcement
As announced previously, the
53rd
Annual Conference of the South African
Institute of Physics (SAIP)
will be held at the
University of Limpopo this year. We hope to see many of you
coming up here!
Most of our invited speakers have already confirmed, so you are in for
a programme packed with good
science,
entertaining
social functions
and ample opportunity
for networking
with colleagues across South Africa!
Accommodation
will be offered on campus, in residences
newly refurbished
recently. If you prefer to stay off campus, there is a wide
variety of hotels
and guest
houses available
in the vicinity.

of some important deadlines

- for SAIP membership
to be recognized in the applicable fees, membership must be established
(and fully paid up) by 1 April 2008!
- I hope, that you are also aware of the
deadline for abstract submission, coming up in a few weeks time (21 April 2008):
if you want to make a contribution - oral or poster - please submit
your abstract

well in time. Whether you come by car, by bus or by air, you can't get
lost! By the way, if you have a couple of additional days to spare,
don't forget: the area is always worth a visit! And: the closest gate
of Kruger National Park is just under 2 hours drive away from here!
