Invitation for IYP2005 Stamp Design Please see information about the IYP2005 on the SAIP web page at http://www.saip.org.za (B) Opportunity for students Dr Shyam Singh : ssingh@unam.na The abdus salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Italy has pledged fellowships for Namibian students to do hons/master degree programme in South Africa. ICTP has also supported Prof. R S Sirohi as Visiting Scholar of ICTP to the University of Namibia. In this award, ICTP will provide travel expanses and per-diem to Prof. Sirohi. The University of Namibia will provide free accommodation and transport to Prof Siroh for the duration of his stay in each trip. The University of Namibia greatly appreciates and acknowledges this generous support from ICTP. (C) Conference announcements (i) SAASTEC Conference. Mr Derek Fish : thefish@iafrica.com The Southern African Association of Science and Technology Centres (SAASTEC) will be hosting their 7th Annual Conference in Windhoek, Namibia, from 8 - 10 September 2004. SAASTEC promotes and assists the establishment of interactive (hands-on) Science Centres in Southern Africa. As these Centres tend to focus mainly on Physics, it is an ideal area of outreach and marketing for the SAIP.
