The International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) has declared that 2005 will be the International Year of Physics.
Co-incidently, 2005 is also the 50th Anniversary of the South African Institute of Physics. The SAIP is making plans to celebrate Physics in 2005 around the country.
2005 is symbolic as it is the centenary anniversary of Albert Einstein's paper on relativity.
